MEANING

‘Youth In Bloom’ is probably the most self explanatory song on the E.P. Like lots of rock music it’s about giving people a voice, liberating people from the 21st century pressures & social expectations they face every day; what to dress like, what music to like, what your body should look like, & ultimately who you should be. It’s an age old sentiment but this track is really about not giving a f**k what people think of you, and doing what you want to do when you want to do it. You don’t have to follow and conform to every trend, you don’t have to be pressured into things you want to do. We’ve all faced/face those pressures too, with our music, how we should look, how we should play, what type of songs we should write so people will like them. Our music isn’t about that. We are what we are because we love being what we are & we think it should be the same for people personally too.

MUSIC / BACKGROUND

Youth In Bloom is the song where we really found our sound. It was the first song written for this EP. We’d done a few singles to get our feet off the ground & gigging but this track felt like a real discovery in some way. It seemed like the style of punchy rock / pop we wanted to play had been achieved when we finished this song and played it live. That was a good moment for us, it set the tone for the rest of the record & it opened our set live for a long time.
